Very nice, quiet place. A real littel paradies. Perfect for a relaxing holiday. The whole staff, reception, restaurant, cable car operatior and cleaning person were very friendly and helpfull. The food in the restaurant very fresh and tasty, just a pitty that the place closes by 6.00 o´clock p.m. Nice to sit under Palm threes ride by the sea. Certainly a place to come back.

We had a great time in Madeira. Faja dos Padres is a perfect spot to explore the island from.
It's beautiful, the scenery is spectacular and it is very quiet.
Definitely a place to recommend!

We had an amazing week at FDP. It was extremely relaxing which was just what we were after. The food is really good wholesome food cooked from ingredients either picked from the farm or caught from the sea so is very fresh.
The staff will bend over backwards to help you and the whole place has its own microclimate - when it was raining on the island it was still glorious sun at Faja Dos Padres. If you are looking to get away from it all then this is the place to go. Maybe not if you like crazy night life or if you have children but i would highly recommend this to anyone else.
If i had to change one thing it would be to have just one night a week that the bar stayed open later. Thank you very much and hopefully we will be back very soon.

You have a truly amazing place here - it's a fabulous thing you are doing, and it's so wonderful that you share this. It's an oasis of calm.

Imagine the perfect getaway and you would be on track, especially Casia de la Maria, located at the end of only a few cottages with a large private terrace at the water's edge and views of the cliffs. Spectacular, serene, simple luxury. Rise each morning to a 10 minute walk through banana trees and other lush foliage to the outdoor restaurant overlooking the sea, with palm trees in a row. Wonderful coffee, homemade jams and bread, cheese and ham and eggs if you like. Even homemade Mango juice! An early dinner delivered to your door can be ordered too. This cottage has marble and wood floors throughout, glass windows on two sides of the kitchen overlooking the sea and cliff. The brand new cable car is superb and only takes a couple of minutes to go up and down, very easy and convenient to go out to dinner or tour the island! If you want a memorable holiday for excellent value with total seclusion look no further!

We stayed 13 nights in one of the very cute houses on the shore of Faja dos Padres. We had a wonderful time. Only the sounds of nature: the waves, seagulls, canary birds and falcons. I must say that there were quite high waves in the first three days, probably caused by a far away depression on the ocean (we had no wind ourselves on that moment). These waves made quite a lot of noise, which for some of us took some time to get used to. For others it was just a meditating sound!
This was the only point which took some time to get used to.
Further it was paradise!
The house was clean, and from the kitchen, the bathroom/toilet and the terrace we had a wide view on sea and shore line.
Walking on the plantation was wonderful, with beautiful flowers, butterflies (in mid-winter!) and birds.
We had every day our breakfast under the palm trees near the restaurant: simple and good food, with fruits mango juice from the plantation.
During lunch time you can have food from the lunch menu: for instance a hamburger.
Diner: there are good salads or fried fish. Our favorite was the espada with mango sauce.
Sometimes, on our request, the food was delivered in our house.
The elevator is not scaring. It is every time an event!

On this moment (beginning of February) they are testing a new cable way (teleferico), which will make the plantation easier to reach, because it will go all the way from the ridge of the mountain down to the plantation, so you don't have to climb (and descend) the stairs to the elevator anymore.
The staff were friendly and helpful.

It is a place where you get detached from time. We did not watch television for a second, we did not watch the news on internet. We just talked with each other and with other guests, having all the time for each other.
Will we come back ? Sure!
