In 2014, in partnership with "Fast Descend", a group of practitioners of canyoning in Madeira, a canyon through Ribeira da Quinta Grande to Faja dos Padres was opened.

The waterfall has a vertical drop of 250 meters, falling from the top of the huge cliff to the sea, and includes 2 huge gaps of 100 and 120 meters, which makes the canyon accessible only to experienced practitioners.

The descend was a duration of 2h00 and in addition to the huge challenge and incredible views it offers, rewards the adventurers with the possibility to take a fantastic swim on arrival!

The return trip might be done comfortably by cable car or by boat.

Ask us for the detailed map of the canyon.

Very Special Place
We just spent 5 days in this fantastic location on our second visit. The houses are very quiet and secluded, with only the sound of the waves breaking on the beach beneath the terrace. The restaurant is really excellent, with fresh locally sourced fish and vegetables grown on the farm at Faja Dos Padres. Staff are lovely and welcoming and the scenery is stunning.
