Wine Production

On Madeira’s south coast, the Atlantic climate and volcanic soils shape wines of unique character, among them one of the most legendary wines in the world, celebrated at Europe’s royal tables and in great courts worldwide: Malvasia Cândida. This noble grape variety, introduced to Madeira in the 15th century, found its perfect refuge in the sheltered and sun-drenched Fajã dos Padres, giving rise to a slightly sweet fortified wine with distinctive acidity, aromatic and intensely elegant.

Among the few places where this variety has survived time and adversity, Fajã dos Padres holds a prominent place. It is here that Malvasia Cândida vines continue to produce an exceptional and exclusive wine, true to the roots of the island’s winemaking history. Each harvest reflects centuries of legacy and respect for a unique terroir and environment, resulting in a rare wine, full of authenticity and identity.
